![]() ![]() And the time period of your particular floor tom could be from the early 90ies or very late 80ies. I'm going to safely say that the wood is most likely maple. Ok, it looks like we're a little bit closer than we were once before. I wouldn't take that as a final answer from me till I can see the insides better though. I honestly can only judge from the little wood through the head I can see, and it LOOKS (not is) like it could be maple. Try not to let the camera flash change the color of the wood (it may be whiter in the picture then it is in real life and that can make a significant difference. Take a picture of a bare bearing edge (to see if there is two different woods or something of the like then take a picture of the wood on the inside of the drum. You can only date Starclassic Maples with the serial number. I managed to score myself a Tama Starclassic kit off trademe.
